SALIC participates in the second edition of the PIF Private Sector Forum

The Senior Vice President of Local Investment Development at SALIC, Mr. Samer Al-Sourani, confirmed the importance of food security is linked to potential global risks such as population growth, climate change, and geopolitical tensions. He added that one of SALIC’s local roles is to work to ensure the sustainability of supply chains of strategic goods to contribute to achieving food security.

During a workshop held by SALIC at the Public Investment Fund and Private Sector Forum, he stated that SALIC works with the companies affiliated with the Public Investment Fund and the private sector to achieve integration and enhance efficiency and effectiveness to face local and global challenges related to food security. He pointed out that SALIC evaluates current opportunities and gaps and aims to enhance the value chain to increase local production to meet the food demand expectations by 2030.

It is noted that the Public Investment Fund and Private Sector Forum launched its second edition at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh over two days, February 6-7, 2024, aiming to enhance partnerships and cooperation opportunities with the private sector in line with the fund’s strategy to increase the contribution of its projects and portfolio companies in the local content to 60% by the end of 2025.
