The CEO of SALIC (Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company), Eng. Sulaiman bin Abdulrahman Al-Rumaih, accompanied by several company officials, visited the Khiyrat Association for Food Preservation in Riyadh on Thursday, October 12, 2023. They were welcomed by Mr. Abdullah bin Ubaid Al-Subaie, the General Supervisor of the association, and other officials.

At the beginning of the meeting, the association’s team presented an overview of their strategic goals and projects aimed at reducing food wastage. The visit also included a tour of the association’s operational facility, where the process of collecting, sorting, storing, and preparing food items, followed by their distribution to officially registered beneficiaries, was explained.

Eng. Al-Rumaih, expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the association through a comprehensive institutional approach and its contributions to food preservation through various partnerships with governmental and private entities. He welcomed the collaboration between SALIC and the Khiyrat Association in the field of food preservation and waste reduction.

It’s worth noting that SALIC is actively involved in raising awareness to reduce food loss and waste within its scope of activities in food security and its corporate social responsibility programs. The company’s local strategy focuses on investing in various food commodities to increase production and rationalize the use of natural resources, contributing to the empowerment of the agricultural food sector by boosting local production.
